The Urban Economy Summer School on Urban Resources and sustainable urban development, aims to raise awareness, and share knowledge on integrated and new approaches to urban finance, sustainable urban resources and urban development. The program is conceptualized within a broad framework, from lifestyle to environmental impact of development, existing institutional arrangements based on international agreements such as the SDGs and the New Urban Agenda. The program will provide participants with a deeper understanding of urban development challenges by addressing the set of political, institutional, economic, technological, social and environmental aspects related to cities and towns. Additionally, the course will include sessions focusing on strengthening capacity and promoting partnerships among cities to achieve SDG 11, which focuses on making cities Inclusive, Safe, Resilient and Sustainable.
The Summer School aims to advance: knowledge and skills acquisition, network, sharing of experience and peer to peer collaboration, learning about practical actions and best practices in urban resource management, capacity building, and policy development.
Speakers
The instructors of the course are a group of prominent scholars selected from the academic sector and highly professional individuals such as professors from Harvard University , University of Toronto, York University and other renowned universities as well as expert scholars from the United Nations including UN-Habitat.

Intended Audience
Mayors, city councilors, city leaders, and professional experts including urban planners and urban designers. Additionally, architects, sociologists, economists, environmentalism Postgraduate students, PhD students and professionals in urban studies, and other related fields such as science and technology with a focus on urban sustainability as well as other individuals and organizations interested in sustainable urban development.
We especially invite interested applicants from the developing countries to submit their candidacy.
