In doing so, you will be advised on what entry document(s) you will need to travel to Canada based on your particular situation.

The entry document you need depends on:

  • the type of travel document you plan to travel with
  • the country that issued your travel document
  • your nationality
  • how you’ll travel to Canada for this trip

Visitor Travel Visa:

A visitor visa is an official document that is put in your passport and shows that you meet the requirements needed to travel to Canada. It is valid up to 6 months pending on your particular situation.

To find out if you need a visitor travel visa and apply online please visit the Government of Canada website link HERE

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA):

An eTA is an entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling to Canada by air. An eTA is electronically linked to a traveller’s passport and valid up to five years or until the passport expires, which ever comes first. If you get a new passport, you will need to get a new eTA. An eTA does not guarantee entry to Canada. When you arrive, a border services officer will ask to see your passport and other documents.
