The Urban Economy Forum (UEF) is organizing a unique global, joint international conference, UEF6 “ Financing Sustainable Tourism, Advancing Quality of Life”
This conference provides an excellent opportunity for academics, researchers, practitioners, city leaders, governmental, non-governmental, and local organizations, civil society, financiers, and planning professionals and consultants from around the world who are involved in the study, financing, management, and development of sustainable tourism and quality of life.
The conference will also explore the potential of sustainable tourism as a major factor and resource that can be tapped by cities worldwide.

We welcome you to be part of the Conference Programme – through in-person presentations at the Conference, Special Sessions, and Roundtables, as well as written Research Papers and Case Study Reports that advance the dialogue and implementation. We invite you to be a part of this year's UEF Conference in Toronto, Canada, taking place from 25 - 27 September 2024.

Please be aware that registration is a prerequisite before submission in all categories. In the event that your submission is not accepted by the forum's scientific board, you will have the option to participate as an attendee at the conference.
UEF is releasing a Call for abstracts/contributions in the fields of theoretical, experimental, and applied research are highly welcomed.
Submissions of academic papers, case studies, work-in-progress papers, round table discussion proposals, Ph.D. papers, as well as non-academic or practitioner contributions, are welcome. Participants from various disciplines such as urban finance, economy, tourism, urban studies, sociology, art, history, geography, communication, information technology, education, psychology, political science, law, and other relevant fields are welcome to contribute to this international Forum.
To ensure the inclusion of selected presentations in the conference collection, we invite and encourage all presenters and speakers to submit the abstracts of their presentations within the specified deadline. If you choose to submit a paper, please note that the paper will pass through to the peer review of an academic system.

Contribution Categories & guidelines
1) Research Abstract/ Papers
The abstract submitted per the Submission Guidelines are published online in the Conference Proceedings, and for the selected full papers UEF strives to publish them in a peer review academic journal after meeting the criteria of the Journal, and made available in UEF's searchable paper platform following the Conference.
Research outcomes in the format of abstract should represent an academic contribution to a specific field, discipline and/or topic within one of the topics (mentioned in the concept note) the Abstract will be included in the forum Proceedings -after the event.

2) Case Study
Case Study Reports contribute to the individual or organization’s Practice by providing evidence and evaluation of work – a specific project, plan, policy, or design – that can either be already completed or in the implementation phase. It can be presented with abstract, full paper or without them just as a sppech.The abstract of Case Study Reports will be included in the Conference Proceedings. The full paper will follow the peer review procedure.

3) Special Sessions
Propose a 60-min Special Session focusing on an innovative, cross-cutting, globally relevant topic that intersects with several of the Forum’s topics. Special Session proposers are invited to be creative with the format of their session (panel, roundtable, game,workshop, outside activity/site visit, debate etc.). Proposers must identify and coordinate all session speakers or facilitators, and are expected to develop and submit initially a Special Session Proposal, The description of the Special Session will be included in the Forum’s Proceedings.

4) Roundtable
A roundtable typically refers to a meeting or discussion involving distinguished individuals, experts, or leaders in a particular field, industry, or area of interest. These roundtables gather influential figures who possess deep knowledge, experience, and decision-making authority regarding the subject matter being discussed.
Such roundtable discussions often focus on critical topics, strategic initiatives, policy decisions, or emerging trends. The goal is to facilitate an exchange of ideas, foster dialogue, and generate solutions or recommendations on “Financing Sustainable Tourism, advancing quality of Life” and related topics. The outcomes or recommendations resulting from these discussions will be added to the resolution and will hold weight and may impact policy, guide strategic decisions, or shape future actions within the Tourism industry.

Submission Topics
UEF6 Conference offers a unique combination of scientific content, diverse perspectives, and collegiality. UEF welcomes contributions from governmental officials, city leaders, NGOs, practitioners, policy makers, academics in planning and related fields – from global north and south, east and west, practical and theoretical, technical and artistic, famous and unknown, generalist and specialist.
However, to enable the Forum Team to make a reasonable assessment of the appropriateness of the proposed paper for the specific Conference, the paper/case study abstract should include the following components:
