Enhancing climate resilience through indigenous and cultural initiatives

This virtual panel session will bring together diverse participants from Indigenous and cultural organizations to discuss the impacts of climate change, attracting climate finance, multi-disciplinary collaboration, proactive planning, and technology implementation for sustainable urban development through the lens of local communities. Emphasizing the importance of Indigenous and cultural involvement, the session highlights the value of traditional knowledge, practices, and initiatives in sustaining the natural environment for generations. By incorporating indigenous perspectives, culturally sensitive solutions can be integrated into climate-responsive planning and financing efforts, fostering social and environmental justice. Through meaningful inclusion, the conference aims to create more equitable and resilient cities and communities, leaving no one behind in the pursuit of climate action and urban sustainability.
