Andrew Martschenko
Principal of Parataxis Design and Development Corporation & Partner in the Parity Fund for Sustainable Development, Toronto, Canada
Andrew Martschenko studied architecture at the University of Waterloo.
In 1998, Andrew attended a TND Design and Design Seminar in Seaside, and was invited to participate in a Duany Plater-Zyberk (DPZ) led public design workshop (charrette) for a new TND in Dallas, which led to him being invited to numerous DPZ and other TND charrettes.
Andrew became frustrated with the loss of quality, energy and momentum of exemplary TND projects, that, despite well intentioned designers, developers and builders, were losing potential value during the permitting process, hence failing to fulfil their full potential at buildout and sales. In 2007 Andrew formed Parataxis Design and Development Corporation as a solution to provide comprehensive design and management continuity and integrity on TND projects, from land ownership, to planning and approvals, to development, to architecture, to marketing and sales, to buildout.
Having both access and opportunities to design and develop a few TNDs with incredible latent value, Andrew became increasingly frustrated with the lack of appropriate funding available for TNDs. In 2021 Andrew, together with aligned partners, formed The Parity Fund For Sustainable Development, which is structured specifically to fund the design, permitting and development of TNDs, and protecting the interests of investors while adhering to ESG and EDI principles.
Andrew has created and maintained a pipeline of project now being pursued in Canada and USA.
