Call for Participation:
Youth as innovators for Sustainable Urban Finance and Climate Action
Dear Bachelor and Masters Students of Universities & Colleges,
We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to a vital global conversation. The Urban Economy Forum (UEF), in collaboration with the World Urban Pavilion in Regent Park – Powered by Daniels, is launching a call for participation under the theme of "Sustainable Urban Finance for Climate Action."
Cities play a crucial role in mitigating, adapting, and solving challenges related to climate change. In support of cities, UEF believes that the perspectives and ideas of youth are pivotal in shaping the future of climate action and urban finance.
We invite talented and passionate bachelor and masters’ students from economic studies, at any University or College, to share their innovative initiatives. The proposal should concisely present your ideas in writing (no more than 500 words) on how urban finance can be leveraged to drive climate action and sustainability in cities worldwide. You are encouraged to explore topics such as green infrastructure financing, renewable energy investment, sustainable transportation funding, and inclusive urban development.
As a token of appreciation for your participation, the Urban Economy Forum is pleased to offer exclusive rewards for the top 3 initiatives. The winners will receive a complimentary ticket to UEF5, our flagship event, where you can engage with renowned experts, policymakers, and industry leaders. Additionally, we will provide flight and accommodation arrangements to ensure your seamless attendance at the event.
To be considered for this incredible opportunity, please submit your written proposals by the July 7, 2023, at 11:59 pm. Please send your submissions to youth.uef@ueforum.org. We will carefully review each entry based on its creativity, feasibility, and potential impact. The winners will be announced one week after the submission deadline.
