Mike Degagne
Trades Training Coordinator, Keepers of the Circle, Canada
Mike Degagne is a Metis father, carpenter and homesteader living on and operating an off grid regenerative farm in Northeastern Ontario. With a background in Carpentry and Construction, Co-operative development and alternative systems Mike's lived experience has been instrumental in the development of the Low Carbon Building team, EcoMap (ecological, modular and passive) building systems, EcoBuild North Social enterprise and EcoReno mobile trades training program all housed under the training division at Keepers of the Circle. The Low Carbon Building team and Eco branded projects at Keepers of the Circle are focusing on the development of healthy, affordable and accessible housing that is made for northern climate and built by northern Communities. Mike's passion for alternative systems does not only apply to construction, they can be seen throughout the various projects including alternative ownership and economic models, alternative business models and alternative energy/infrastructure solutions specific to remote, rural and underserved communities.
