Muhammad Gambo
Dr Muhammad Gambo leads the Policy, Research and Partnerships unit of Shelter Afrique, a Pan African Housing Finance Institution based in Nairobi, Kenya. The position is responsible for managing the policy, research and partner relationship aspects of the organization towards providing innovative solutions to the housing and urban development challenges in Africa.
In this role, he has spearheaded and accomplished key resource mobilization, partnerships and stakeholder engagements with various government, private sector, relevant key multilateral/development finance and non-sovereign institutions towards supporting the affordable housing and built environment practices in Africa. Additionally, he has organized and participated in several capacity building, advocacy and knowledge management initiatives in aspects relating to the built environment and largely the sustainable development value chain.
Prior to joining Shelter Afrique, he has consulted for several government, multilateral development and finance institutions on innovative financing, infrastructure reform and regulation practices in Sub - Saharan Africa and also served as a lecturer at the Department of Quantity Surveying, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Real Estate and Facilities Management from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia and have participated in Executive Education programs and courses at Graduate School of Business, University of Cape town, South Africa; Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, United States and Strathmore Business School, Nairobi, Kenya.
He has published widely in the fields of affordable housing delivery, innovative financing techniques for infrastructure projects, infrastructure reform and regulation, built environment research techniques & methodology and sustainable development.
